Zachary Konkol currently serves as a Technical Analyst for the Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Council (RESTORE Council) via a contract with Veterans Management Services, Inc. (VMSI). Created by the RESTORE Act of 2012 and comprised of the Governors of the five Gulf Coast States and Cabinet-level officials from six federal agencies, the RESTORE Council is responsible for restoring and protecting the natural resources, ecosystems, fisheries, marine and wildlife habitats, beaches, coastal wetlands, and economy of the Gulf Coast. Konkol began working with Council staff in 2014 and currently administers its electronic grants management system (RAAMS).

Prior to his work with the Council, Konkol worked for the Louisiana Division of Archaeology---where he managed the Division’s Geographical Information System (GIS) database and web viewer---and various private firms in the Gulf and Mid-South regions. During the Deepwater Horizon oil spill response, he created and managed databases of cultural resource data for the four-state theatre of operations. Konkol was raised in western Kentucky and graduated from Murray State University with a degree in English. He conducted post-graduate work at both Murray State University and the University of Memphis.
